Approximately two years ago, I decided to give audible books another try. My commute is over 30 minutes each way from home to work and I was getting tired of NPR and the occasional podcast. I was worried at first that I would daydream and miss content or be unable to keep track of the characters, but it’s been an awesome experience! Over the course of 22 months, I’ve “read” over 60 books. (Does it count as reading? Unsure about that!)
The narrator makes a difference and there have been several books that I just couldn’t get through due to the narrator. I especially dislike when a narrator puts on a fake accent to match the location of the book. I tend to prefer fiction (my preference with real books), but some of my most memorable have been nonfiction, especially when narrated by the author. There have been numerous days when I arrive home and sit in the garage a bit since I just can’t stop listening!
My recent favorites:
Fiction
Nonfiction
